Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
I don't get why you'd want to go back to a club who said you're not good enough and released you as a kid.

If I'd been released by WHU as a kid, and told I wasn't goo enough, only for them to want to resign me years later after being brought through another teams academy, i'd still tell them to fuck off.

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
Let’s hope Newcastle throw their hat in the ring and drive the price up.

We all want to keep him but won’t happen so may as well get the most money we can for him. Plus no part exchanges thank you. Straight up purchases.

If I were Rice I’d want to be heading to Man City - imagine playing in that side. However he’s a Chelsea fan so imagine that’s his first choice.

Chelsea, Man City, Newcastle are really the ones that will potentially pay the ask - depends on what manager Man U bring in but I don’t think they would go higher than £80

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
Of the top four I too have Liverpool as rank outsiders should the time come
Chelsea are the obvious choice for most, but they actually need him the least given their existing MF
It will be either Utd or City for me, both have the means and both need that type of player
Said for a while that I see him at the Mancs and the way the season is unfolding, even more so

Don't worry lads, Sullivan has made it crystal clear that he is committed to handing on the club to his boys. They have had to learn all aspects of business and football club ownership/management the hard way, no helping hand for them. Young Jack has even shown how good he is at actually managing a proper professional outfit in the highest quality, highly competitive women's league.

Why would we be interested in some foreign investment with billions in wealth when we can have 2 of our own continue the stunning reign of success and spectacular investment and progress we have seen under GSB which Moyes is taking credit for ?

Makes sense to be honest. Bellingham will be far cheaper at the moment.

As soon as he signs for a club like Liverpool though, he'll be first choice for England. Presumably replacing Phillips, but who knows?

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
My Liverpool mate reckons they are teeing up Bellingham, no interest in Rice......plus they rim Fabinho so much theyll be only one of the so called big 4 who wont be in for him next summer

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
This will be played out by the media. Remember how pissed off they were when they (THEY) missed the Argies arriving?

Then the "How very DARE West Ham have a player like Payet - he belongs at a club of OUR choosing" stories?

Will be the same with Rice - even if we storm the Europa unbeaten this season and finish top 6 in the league, the media will still push for him to be at a "Bigger club".

We can't buy their favours in the way Newcastle just have, so we'll have to go about becoming a big club the hard way, the traditional way - the sporting way, but that takes time and time is the one thing the media won't give anybody.

"I don’t think Liverpool have the money to buy Rice"

Me neither. Even though they've spent LARGE on a goalkeeper and a central defender which were missing pieces in their jigsaw, I don't think they'd go as high as the figure that's mentioned for Rice.

It would make me puke seeing Rice turn out in a Chelsea shirt, but that's the blatantly obvious destination for him. To be fair to Rice, he's handled it well so far (refusing to sign a Chelsea shirt that's been offered to him, etc).

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
I don’t think Liverpool have the money to buy Rice. They’d have to sell one of their top players first to justify it.

Funny isn't it, how our opinions are different, because I'd be sick as a fucking dog if he went to those cunts. Only plus point is that it'd stop the ridiculous media wankfest love in over Jordan Fucking Henderson.

He would look good in Liverpool side and that would be OK with me moving to them.

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
Agree it's probably his preferred destination, what with it being his old club, still in London and his BFF Mount being there.

Only thing that might stop them is the embarrassment of spunking probably close to 100 million to re-buy a player they let go for nothing, just once again highlighting the profligacy of their academy/transfer systems.

Rice, Lukaku, Salah, De Bruyne, and I'm sure there are more. All let go for relative peanuts. They are bloody lucky they have an owner with bottomless pockets because can you imagine the outcry at most clubs letting talent like that go, either for good or only to buy back for huge sums?

if Chelsea put in a realistic bid, he goes there.

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
I'm just hoping for a bidding war from all across the continent, when the time comes. Not sure how many clubs aside from those in England or PSG could afford him at the moment though. Maybe just Madrid? (Not that they can afford him per se, but that won't put them off spending money)

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
I'm not worried about Rice leaving for Newcastle.

If a team like Chelsea or Manu Utd (under a better manager) start bidding, then I'm worried.

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
People won't blame the owners for Rice leaving as like you say... 'it happens' Pagey, what it will show yet again is that the club is limited in what it can achieve with these owners and with the club ticking the boxes in everything now to be a potentially big club as far as the PL & Sky are concerned (big stadium that gets a big attendance consistently).....we can yes blame the owners as they have put a lot of this in place for a reason but now can't possibly see it through as they have (rightly so) personal limits as to what they would invest.........so for them it's step aside as the next step would involve competing with owners who do invest large sums......to get the likes of Declan into their squad.

I bet you Sullivan will try and take the credit, when we do sell him.

'Chelsea let the lad go and no-one else would take a chance on him. Not even our own academy staff. I had to personally talk them into it....'

Re: Article :- Is Declan Rice worth £100 million?
I'm afraid it's a matter of when, not if. If we are in Europe again next season we have a chance to keep him, but his constant improvement means it's just harder and harder for us.

All I hope is that we get a top, top price for him but I don't trust the owners to be capable. I expect to be lumbered with a few high wage cast offs that big clubs can't wait to get shot of and a mediocre sum.

He might even be Newcastle's 'statement of intent' in the summer. I can see them throwing mental amounts of money around.

He'd get into almost any side in the world.

I think there's more chance of Shergar playing for Newcastle than Declan
